Glyder Fawr 3279ft (999m)

The higher of the two Glyderau summits will be gained by northbound walkers after a slog up a scree slope from the ground above Llyn y Cwn (the lake of the dogs). This is where the going starts to tell on a less than mountain-fit party.

The Glyderau plateau is an interesting place which repays many visits to explore its nook and crannies, but parties set on a 14 peaks traverse will press on over the plateau, skirting Castell Y Gwynt (the castle of the winds) to the south. The exact highest point is a matter of debate - but as they are just a few metres apart you might want to touch them both - just to be sure!
